Bit off-topic: Not only banknotes but also train tickets (platform tickets, suburban railway tickets and may be express tickets too) will now have the telescopic numbering system... 8)

Who prints railway tickets? Railways must be having their own printing facility, considering that they have to print billions of tickets every year?

The implementation is in phased manner, with plates bearing the older and new running in parallel. This starts with some insets and when the new plates are being done, they introduce new features. So we have mix of items. Even 3 variations for same year / inset. Normal, with Telescopic and with Telescopic and bleed lines.

Looks like you are not keeping pace with RBI  >:D
The design for Rs 20 and Rs 50 has been modified. The identification mark, Intaligo printing and some other features have been removed. Read this at other thread http://www.worldofcoins.eu/forum/index.php/topic,36643.msg231225.html#msg231225

So this is not an error, but what the new notes will have. As the plates are not yet fully transitioned, one can find both old and revised designs. on Rs 50 [or Rs 20?] in one of the inset/year you have both the designs. Similar to with telescopic / without telescopic for same year/inset.

Dheer, notes you are showing are signed by Patel. What Mits is showing has Rajan's signature... ???

Rs 20 - 2016 No Inset Letter
Rs 20 - 2016 L Inset Letter

For Urijit Patel we have;
Rs 50 - 2016, No Inset Letter
Rs 20 - 2016, L Inset Letter
Rs 20 - 2016, R Inset Letter
