Wow, quite a few ...

Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay and Biju Patnaik will be commemorated in 2016 - on their 100th birth anniversaries.

Bhisham Sahni this year & Tatya Tope, assuming 2015 to be his 200th birth anniversary. Lala Lajpat Rai on his 150th birth anniversary and Rajput ruler Maharana Pratap on his 475th birth anniversary.

Maharana Pratap had a commemorative issue in 2003 during a previous BJP government, now looks like another one.

Of these, Rani G ( 26 th Jan. ) and L. Lajpat Rai ( 28th Jan.) are carried forward from previous financial year as their centenary birth dates have gone past. The release sets are ready.
Hopefully, Maharana Pratap (9th May ) will be as per schedule.
I am expecting  Tatya Tope on May 10 and Bhisham Sahni on 8th August.

I see that earlier all of the commemorative coins previously issued by the RBI had a stunning finish; where in a great amount of importance was given for the details, i especially like the 50 paisa coins issued in 1985/86(fisheries/fao); is not the same these days.
