Y # 18 5 ZLOTYCH 1931 winged victory, edge inscription SALUS REIPUBLICAE SUPREMA LEX

This scruffy piece arrived in a job lot of tokens, I was surprised to see it rates reasonably well in SCWC  :o

Have a look at  my tokens and my banknotes.

It looks like there is a reasonably good coin below the grime.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

I hate being the messenger, but this coin is counterfeit and its place among tokens is quite right.

There is luckily a bunch of elements, which can't be well reproduced in garages yet. This particular piece among other flaws has a shifted date on the obverse. The axis of the letter "T" in ZŁOTYCH should separate cleanly digits 9 and 3. Here it ends up on '3'. Following this method you can avoid fakes even when the photo is that bad.

Sorry...
Best,
Adam

Thank you I did have my suspicion about this piece.

However your comment "The axis of the letter "T" in ZŁOTYCH should separate cleanly digits 9 and 3. Here it ends up on '3'. " is only good to those in the know. This being the first polish 'coin' I have looked at in many years!

Not my area of knowledge, but if the statement above is correct, the coin shown in my KM (2000) is a fake, too.  ::)

In my 2005 edition there is a photo of a 1930 coin there. Different year - different dies.

If you can handle the language, find here a really quick guide:
