A ski lift token issued by SJ (Swedish state railways) for the ski resort of Åre in Jämtland, not far from the Norwegian border. The road and railway between Östersund (SE) and Trondheim (NO) is lined with a number of Alpine ski centres, of which Åre is probably the largest. I haven't found anything convincing about STEMAG; my guess is that it is simply an advertisement and not relevant to the ski lift as such. There is at least one other similar token from Åre with a different reverse.

Aluminium, 25,0 mm, 3,82 g.

Almost certainly from before 2000, when SJ was privatised and non-core parts of its activity were sold off; quite possibly from considerably earlier than that.

Stemag, the logo on the back of the token seems to be the Austrian ski lift manufacturer - Steirische Motoren- und Gerätebau AG, shortened to STEMAG.
They built skilifts from the 1950s to the 1980s, mainly in Germany and Austria.
