My niece went on holiday to Mexico, Guatemala and Belize for four weeks. She returned yesterday. Today she proudly told me:

I saw hummingbirds, quetzals (national bird of Guatemala), howler and spider monkeys, coatis, toucans, vultures. Also swam with nurse sharks, sting rays, eagle rays and lots of other fish!

Of these, the coati has never appeared on a coin of any sort, whether a circulation coin or a collector coin. The coati is related to the raccoon, apparently. I know that some of the world's most important people enjoy reading my posts here on WoC and are often influenced by them. So let's see what happens now.  8)

Apparently the cacomistle is also related to the racoon, coati and kinkajou.

Will it ever appear on a coin?
