Hello,

Can someone help me with this weird engraved coin/token? Any ideas on what it might be or from what time period it is?
Diameter 23mm, weight 2,95grams

Thanks in advance!

The legend is in french dialect, written "as speaking" by a person with a poor orthographic knowledge :
"A SERVAIS DARGEN THOMAS DAQUIN" means : "ça servait d'argent (à) Thomas d'Aquin" = "used as money (at) Thomas d'Aquin"
A typical way of speaking of people from North of France (Picardie / Normandie).
A handmade token with some link with a church or convent / monastery / religious school (alphabet on reverse) named "Thomas d'Aquin", I think.

"All I know is that I know nothing" (Socrates)

Agree with above views. Alternatively "Servais" also is used as a first name in Belgium. So Servais Dargen could be a name and explain the missing "t"of argent.
Looking at the style of what is left of the lettering of the original coin i think this was a Belgium "liard" rather than a French copper. Size and weight would also fit with this.
