A 10 frank 1970 flemish.

Not only is this coin off-center. It has also a partial incuse of the escutcheon and the date.

This requires you to believe that the collar snapped and the previous coin got stuck in the press - while a broken collar should have given the previous coin more, rather than less place in the press - causing a double error that was not noticed by quality control, though the press must have made a horrible rattling noise and produced a whole series of caps, due to its speed. Too many coincidences?

I think you are looking too far to find an explanation.

The first coin was strucked normal, but didn't fall fast enought from out the dies. Then came the next roundel (coin of the photo). The 2 coins became half stuck between the dies, and so was this error coin made.
