The reverse of the 50 ngwee coin featured an elephant.


There was no 20 or 25 ngwee coin.

The obverse of the 1 kwacha coin.


This was the highest denomination of coin.

The 5 ngwee and 1 kwacha coins were made of nickel-plated steel, whilst the 10 and 50 ngwee coins were made of brass-plated steel.
