Strange - according to that list, the Indian Rupee already has a currency symbol: So that one is not used much?

Side note: Part of the list is funny anyway. "Standard dollar sign is generally used to signify peso amounts"? Anybody from a peso country may say that in some countries the "standard peso sign is used to signify dollar amounts" ...

This is the first that I have heard of this symbol. Currently the rupee is abriviated as Rs. or at best IRs. (Rupees or Indian Rupees).

I do not know from where they have based the information. Would that also mean that the info on other currencies could be faulty?

Among the five finalists,one is daughter of Charles Correa,who is a well known architect.I think she will come up with a nice design..

They haven't disclosed the designs yet.As far as I know,the final design has already been selected (that's what I read in local news paper),and it has been sent to our finance minister for final approval 8) News paper also says that new design will start appearing from March,after the budget.So have to wait till then..

The results are not declared yet.I read in newspaper that it will be declared in mid march.I'll post the designs as soon as I get some information about them..
