The following Indian Princely States issued their own postal orders between 1884 & October 1886;

Gwalior (1885-86).
Jhind (1885-86).
Nabha (1885-86).
Patiala (1884-86).

Extant examples of these postal orders are extremely rare.

The banknotes of these princely states are extremely hard to find.The only banknotes which I have seen here are those of British India and the Hyderabad state.I haven't even seen banknotes of other states.
The state of Bikanir had one pice paper token money..I had seen its image somewhere on internet..

  I do have a couple of King George VI notes (1940 1 Rupee & red 2 Rupees) of British India.I have never seen,let alone,been offered even a Hyderabadi 1 Rupee note.

Some of them are catalogued at under US$10 in the Pick Specialised catalogue,but you never see them.

Banknotes of Hyderabad state are sold for very high price here.The minimum price for an average condition banknote is about 4000INR,and may go to 10,000INR for UNC/AUNC..Catalog price of 10$ is a joke..

Most states did not have any authority to print currency. I do not think that even larger states like Baroda, Kutch, Jaipur etc printed any bank notes. Bank notes or their predesessors were printed by banks or sharafs. What was minted by the smaller states were cash coupons which were ment for internal circulation as they did not even have the authority to mint their own coins. Some of the states were a few Kilometers in area.

  Only those Indian Princely States listed in the top posting issued their own banknotes & emergency cash coupons (which served the same purpose as a regular banknote).Kutch's unique Specimen notes are included here,as they are also listed in the Pick Specialised catalogue.

Although the Indian monarchs recognised the British monarch as Emperor of India,they still possessed the prerogative to have coins struck.I can also guess that they also possessed the prerogative to order banknotes to be issued,considering that some of the Indian Princely States had their own governments & local parliaments to assist the ruling Maharajah or Nawab.The Nizam of Hyderabad & the Amir of Bahawalpur most definitely appointed their own Prime Ministers.
