Just a bit of general interest, as storage is as important as cleaning and there are many ways of doing it.

I voted for the paper 2x2's. For metric readers: these are 5x5 (centimeters).

In the US, there is also a 3x3 (7.5x7.5) carton frame. However, as far as I know these will fit only in US (three ring) album pages. Also, 5x5s come in pre-glued and stapled varieties. I use pre-glued, even though they're much more expensive because I hate the look of the staples. I used Pritt sticks for a while, which works fine but is still messy.

I just bought some Lighthouse sticky 2x2s from here:

They are sold in 50s (any mixed sizes of your choice) for £4 (he will take £3.50 by best offer), which works out at 7p each which is not too bad.

Now I have them I have to say they are much nicer than the stapled variety. Throwing away the 2x2s that some of my coins came in with ugly writing on them, or huge frames around tiny coins has approved their appearance a lot. Though I will say that putting 17mm coins in a 17.5mm frame is a bit of a squeeze.

I'm slowly (very slowly) moving over to Mylar flips and long plastic storage boxes, a bit like the containers that slides used to be stored in.
