By the way, I am American, a Us Citizen live in Mission Viejo, California.
I am talking about coins only, not paper. For new paper money I could get them, but they are too many. In pristine conditions, even harder. Their banks do not keep them new.

This week I was able to purchase 2 different lots of Indonesian coins from 2 different Java dealers. Both started out with high prices $4.50 to $5.50 per coin. These coins are smaller denomination Rupiah and Sen, in AU condition. After a counter offer the coins were sold for $.40 per coin, which is closer to what I think is the value. Nice coins for my collection.

BTW, none were 1997 50 Rupiah.   :(

Is that 1997 Komodo Rp 50.-?
That is a little "old", but I think I still could get it.
Do you know that Indonesia validate the old coins/money?

I am not sure what you mean by "validate"?
I am here in Indonesia, so still looking for the coins.

After several years, I am not sure how long it always varied, the coin or money not valid any longer.
They do same to stamps too. Are you looking for silver coins too? Go to jewelry shops, they usually has it.
Where are you exactly, what town? I might be able to direct you.

I still get 25 and 50 rupiahs in change from shopping.
We live in Bali.

There was a monetary crisis in 1997 and the value of Rupiah fell drastically against Dollar. If you still can get it in change, it must be still good. You probably can get them from the Banks, money changer or even street trader around Jalan Gajah Mada, Den Pasar. If they don't have it, ask if they can find for you, tell them what you are willing to pay. They will search it for you even probably send it to your hotel. Native Bali is unbelievable honest and very helpful, even if you have to leave Bali, you can trust them the money, they will send you the merchandise. It happen many times to my various friends. At the first time, it blow my mind, but then convince me since they always do. They are devout Hindu, they are different than the rest of Indonesia.
I postponed my plan to go to Bali until December, since I was sick. Are you in Kuta, Sanur or Ubud? We may be get together if you still there until then. I speak the language (my mother tongue), it make s it a lot easier (and reduce price too :). Good luck and good hunting.
By the way, you guys mention about 1 sen 1952, I have more than 10 pcs. Any takers? I also have silver coins minted only 43,000 each.
