Central Bank to issue a "Crimean" bill

The Central Bank of Russia intends to issue a bill dedicated to Crimea. It is holding a tender on the design of the banknote.

The deputy head of the Central Bannk, Georgy Luntovsky said that the bill will be intended for wide circulation.

Bank of Russia will release a 100-ruble banknote dedicated to the Crimea

In December, the Bank of Russia will issue a thematic banknote dedicated to the Crimea. Its denomination will be 100 rubles.

Georgy Luntovsky, the first deputy chairman of the Bank of Russia, said the new bill "will be released in unusual colors – it will be the symbols of Crimea and Sevastopol."

In addition George Luntovsky reported that the Bank of Russia did not plan to issue banknotes with nominal value of 10 thousand rubles, and do not even consider this question. "All sorts of rumors periodically appear in the press have come not from us, he added.

The banknote was put into circulation on December 23. 20 million banknotes have been printed. The banknote also has a QR code, which when scanned, takes you to a website which has all the details of banknote (provided your mobile internet is on). :)
