Modern aeroplanes on coins

Guernsey, 5 pounds, 1998.   80th Anniversary of the Royal Air Force. 

The design shows three Supermarine Spitfires. The Spitfire was designed by Reginald Mitchell, and this coin design was the work of his nephew, Jim Mitchell.
