This falus struck at Resht is unusual according to its legend's arrangement : " zarb Resht" is written with isolated letters with the "B" of zarb and "T" of Resht looking like a cross.

Copper / 9,55g / wide flan : 30-31mm diam.

I have found a similar coin with unread legend from S.Album : http://numismatics.org/collection/1917.215.3124
The script is clear but not the design on reverse and I don't know what kind of personage it shows ? a kneeling woman ?

Another most unusual coin saro, as for the reverse I have no idea

When you click on RASHT in the ANS page you are linking to, you get three results, two of them of similar coins. The obverse of both is described as "seated figure".

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

Oh yes Peter ! I should had have a look to that... and when I click on "falus rasht" I find 71 results; two have a similar design and just one with the same curious cross like reverse.
That gives : obverse : " x seated figure NOT RASHT" / reverse : ????

I think that my reading of reverse is the good one even if I have never seen such legend written with isolated letters.

When such a coin is read differently by ANS and saro, I trust saro.

Too kind Peter ! but I just have a readable examplar...

I looked again at the 2nd ANS coin and I see that it's also the same type, just in a lower grade.

I have found the answer from S.Album Auction 5 where a similar coin was offered for sale (Item 73763) with this description :
"CIVIC COPPER: AE falus (15.94g), Rasht, ND, A-3257, woman seated, holding baby, mint name rasht written with 3 separate letters, Very Fine, RR. "

(...and a confirmation for the curious manner of writing the mintname.)

Congratulations that you finally have a definite attribution. It shows that just some patience, with keeping your eyes open, pays off !

Thank you dear THCoins . Like the squirrel with its nuts, the numismatist keeps things in mind...the problem is that, like the squirrel, he often forgets where he put them  :D  !
