A crude 2 euro coin? No, a 7 Euregio piece.
« on: January 13, 2009, 12:42:01 AM »
Euregio is not only the name of several cross-"border" regional cooperations in Europe - now it's also a coin. Errm, medal. On Saturday several artists presented their works at the Kunst Carré in Krefeld, NW. One of them, the goldsmith Heike Potthoff-Scheurenberg, made some heavy silver pieces which resemble €2 coins but say "7 euregio" instead.

The other side of each medal shows a "tragedy" theater mask. The artist wants to point at how little the city spends on culture ...

 :)

I like the idea, not the nail polish. The mini casting "mill" is real fun.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

Agreed, in this case the process is more appealing than the result. And those nails ... uh, I wear a lot of black myself, but even if I was a woman, that would probably be a tad too "Gothic" for me. :)
