The KM catalog lists 1900 large and small date coins. Can someone tell me how to know which is which?
Maybe a diagram if one is available?

Two different dies, actually. The letters, figures, mint and mint master marks all have a slightly different size or shape. The easiest way to recognise the varieties is by the shape of the zeroes in the date: round or oval.

Thanks!  I have the Oval 0's. I assume from looking at the images that is the small date.

Two 1900 cents I have.  Pretty sure they are both the small date.
I will have to keep looking for the large date.

Nobody except KM calls them large and small date. Those who do collect them say round zeroes (your coin above) and oval zeroes. Here are are two used specimen side by side. The "difference" is pretty hard to see without magnification.
