Dam of the Mughal Emperor Akbar, AH 992: Ajmer Mint
« on: December 22, 2008, 11:33:48 AM »
This copper coin shows 992 which I presume is the AH year. Is this a Dam of the Mughal Emperor Akbar? I am unable to read the persian text. Could some one please help?

Yes, this is a Dam of Akbar. Not sure about the mint but it could be Chittor.

Below is the scan of another similar coin. I had picked up 4 coins which looked similar but had different dates. Can this throw more light on the mint? is the flower type mark a mint mark?
