Has anyone here ever found old or foreign coins in a Coinstar machine?

According to http://www.coinstar.com ,the Coinstar machines are only available in America,Canada,Ireland,& the U.K..

It's a shame that there's no branches of Coinstar in either Australia or New Zealand.

May be a shame in AU and NZ but for some obscure reason I have never really missed such machines here in Continental Europe. Why would I want to pay a 9 percent fee for that?

They have them in our local supermarkets, but I agree that I have never understood the need to 'turn coins into cash' as they put it, when I can take them to my bank and get 100% of their value instead of 91%.

Indeed, several other local shops are delighted if I take them change, as banks are 10 miles or more apart round here.

As you put coins IN, I am not sure how I am to 'find foreign coins' in them.

From what I know, you don't actually find them in the machines. But quite a few people do not care about the pieces that such a machine rejects; they will simply leave them in the return slot or reject bin. So it can be fun for a coin collector, especially a novice or maybe kids, to check the slot for whatever the machine did not accept. Inspecting the area around and underneath it can be "rewarding" too ...
