I am told that Monaco will issue 2 Euro coin on Ann. of Liberation from France.

Any comments?

Yes, see the list here:

Unfortunately I have not found any further details so far. As for that "liberation", well, between the mid-16c and the mid-17c Monaco was a protectorate of Spain, then it became a protectorate of France. In 1793, shortly after the French revolution, Monaco was annexed. In 1814 the Grimaldis returned to the throne (which is basically what that coin would commemorate). Between 1815 and 1861, Monaco was a protectorate of Sardinia, then it became a protectorate of France again ...

If Monaco is like Luxembourg, here is another opportunity to issue a coin and make some good money

We can perhaps expect twin €2 commemorative coins. :D

Problem is that the 2014 contingent for coins, fixed in the monetary agreement, is pretty much "gone". But the twins will be presented to the public on 7 January - new calendar year, new occasion. ;)  Now whether Monaco plans to issue a commemorative €2 coin, a national collector coin, or nothing at all, has not been announced so far ...
