In the olden days there were only the two catalogues, Yeoman ~ Modern World Coins ~ covering the period 1850-1964 and Craig ~ Coins of the World ~ covering the earlier period 1750-1850. Later there was a further supplement from Yeoman Current coins of the World bridging the gap from 1950 to date.

These issues ceased long ago and all was replaced by Krause Mishler; firstly with one catalogue then eventually all the other new improved editions we have today. However some of the former Yeoman and Craig numbers are still being used.
