Want to share this acquired by chance small and lovely coin.
CIVIC COPPER: Anonymous, ca. 1878-1879, AE falus (3.18 g), Qandahar, ND, struck during the British occupation of Qandahar during the Second Afghan War

Figleaf

Much better (over)struck than usual. I wonder why the Afghans usually gave themselves so much trouble to create nice dies, then waste them on weak and ex-centric strikes. Your coin shows they were technically capable of making good coins.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

Manzikert

As Peter says, that is a really lovely specimen, with just the slightest indications of the undertype: the hammerman must have give it a really good thump!
