First design released for the 2014 20 for 20 coins.

Goose design.

Other designs for 2014 will be: Bobcat, Summertime, and Holiday Candles

Goose and bobcat. This reminds me of the Confederation Centennial set of 1967, which included a goose and a lynx. The bobcat and  lynx are separate but related species.

I wonder how long it will be before the UK Royal Mint moves onto wildlife designs, as a way to attract more buyers of collector coins.

Here is a picture of the 1967 coins.  This is a set that I don't have yet.

Dunno.....they seem to like reusing the Saint George Slaying the Dragon and Britannia designs.

Of course, they now have jumped onto "Year of" coins with the Year of Horse coin for 2014.

Hmmm....what UK animals could they do.....the badger, hedgehog, grouse.....

Same here, I just have the 1 cent and 5 cent coins.  The dime, qarter, half, and dollar are all silver.

Yes, very boring in the 21st century.

Canada Centennial Dime and Quarter were also minted in nickel. Source:Canadian Coins and their varieties by Ron Brown

Thanks for that information since I was previously told that they were both only silver issues.
