RBI to put into circulation new 5 rupee coin
Thursday, November 20, 2008 : 1800 Hrs

Chandigarh (PTI): The Reserve Bank of India will put into circulation New Cupro-Nickel coins of Rs. 5 issued by the Union Government to commemorate the occasion of Golden Jubilee Celebration of Khadi and Village Industries Commission.

The face of the coin will bear the lion capital of Ashoka Pillar. The reverse of the coin will have the portait of Mahatma Gandhi in the centre and a lady with charkha and a village scence, a RBI release said here on Thursday.
