Martin,
There is also supposed to be a post-2006 coin of one of the other denominations - possibly the 10c. or the 20c.

You should let everyone on http://www.nzcca.com/forum know that the British Commonwealth Numismatic Forum has been closed down due to lack of activity.

2007-dated 10c and 2008-dated 20c have been struck but are still stockpiled until needed, so it may be some time until they start appearing.

Thanks for that,Martin.

It's a shame that the Tuatara 10c. medal-coin wasn't restruck in large numbers during 2007,& put into circulation, thus nullifying its status as being only a medal-coin.

It's also a shame that the RAM won't reveal the name of the designer. Why does the RAM need to mint any of NZ's coins anyway, when NZ has its own mint?

The New Zealand Mint is not a national mint, just a private entity along the lines of Perth, Pobjoy, Franklin, etc.  The name is a little misleading, unfortunately, which has led to its being (erroneously) listed in various coin catalogues and handbooks as the central issuing/distribution authority for NZ.

The New Zealand Mint is a private one, just like the Commonwealth Mint & the Pobjoy Mint are.The New Zealand Mint has never had a contract with the R.B.N.Z.,but it does have contracts with various British Commonwealth Pacific Islands countries, especially Fiji.

I don't even think that the New Zealand Mint has the capacity to strike the millions of coins that are needed every year anyway.

Martin,
The Perth Mint is NOT a private mint,as it is owned by the Western Australian Government.

It still ain't a national one, and its products are hardly distinguishable from the others described, so let's not get bogged down on detail on this one ...
