Hi:

Today I bought a new coin. I feel it is Aurangzeb Alamgir Silver Rupee from Azamgarh mint. Please help confirm this.

For some reason board is not allowing me to attach files of about 460kb each. Therefore please do not mind the links.

Hi Mahesh,
What a lovely coin.
If I followed your link correctly, I think that the coin you have is Km 300.39 in the Standard Catalog;  Minted in Itawa by Aurangzeb, AH 1099/32.  The two dots indicate "t", not the one dot that would indicate a "z". On the other hand, I wish I could read Persian and not try to de-code Persian.

Perfectly attributed. Nothing to add to it.

Richie, Osheo,

Many thanks for your help.

Impressive, Richie. I think there is no difference between reading and decoding exept speed and seed is not important for coin collectors.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.
