Hey fellas! Not asking for help, I just wanted to share the coins I am currently working to identify. As you see there is a lot of variation! You may have seen a couple of these before, and you may very well see most of them again in the future!

Some are semi-identified such as the deb from Bhutan and the Cilician Kardez units, but need to be finally attributed.

For most of them, I only know their approximate period and geographical location.

I love buying unidentified coins and these are from more than a dozen different lots. I am usually able to identify most of the coins right off the bat, but some are tougher than others.

These are the coins that I've accumulated through the past six months or so without being able to identify. I keep working on them and once in a while I finally get one! Most recently it has been a very worn antoninianus of Probus that I finally managed to read the legend of. It always feels great to crack one of the harder nuts!

Hope you enjoy looking at them and seeing what my typical weekend is like - working on this list!

Pretty difficult all. I can easily see how solving these puzzles would be a relaxing weekend occupation (beats soccer hands off :))

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

That's quite a task you have set yourself !

Nice!  Projects like these is what irks my better half  ;), hope its not the same for you  ;D.  BTW, what is the sudden interests in Armenian coins these days? Seems everyone is into it as several dealers and auctioneers now are hosting Armenian coins.  That also applies to Serbian coins as well.  Wonder if dealers are gauging this forum for market direction  :o
A gallery of my coins can been seen at FORVM Ancient Coins

I don't know if any dealers intentionally browse forums for that, but I am sure that they can't help noticing what coins people are talking about. I am sure many people who participate in the discussions are also small-time coin dealers on the side.

It is indeed quite a task! I haven't cracked any yet this weekend but I have quite a good feed about the Armenians so far!

Though you didn't ask for help  ;)
nos. 16  & 17 seem to be Selim I (AH918-926/1512-1520AD) Aqche or Akce (or whatever other spelling of this denomination you choose).

I only ask for help when I can't make any more progress! Thanks a lot for the Selim I Akce IDs, I had a feeling it was somewhere in that period but I hadn't narrowed it down. I'll check out his coins and see if I can verify!
