COLLECTION Baby Gum
« on: September 27, 2013, 11:37:17 AM »
26mm
8.08g
Medal aligned

So, does anyone know what else is in the collection?
I know of another with an acropolis structure on the back.  Not very exciting for a kid?
Did it come with bubblegum? Where is it from? I think France?
Many thanks  ;D

No idea, have not seen it before.

Reminded me of a bit of a rumpus I heard the other day about this bubble gum on sale here to the kiddies.

I've found a slot machine bar poker game called Baby Gum that took 10 franc coins - could this be it?
Although the 1977 10 franc coin had the right diameter but weighed 10g??

It may just possibly be for something similar to this:

See the US tokens from Golden Medal Gum of which there is a large variety of different images, all of which complete a set of tokens that are made for use with Golden Medal Gum machines.

See this Dutch collection of these:

quote.
These tokens with pictures of sports, exist with a small (6 mm) and with a large (10 mm) chewing-gum balloon.
They have been made in the USA, and they were available in all countries where Golden Medal chewing-gum has been sold, by collecting chewing-gum packages.

I can see some references to 'Baby' here but no 'Baby Gum' http://gumwrappers.unlugar.com/companies.html

No doubt about it, the logo fits almost exactly.

You found a useful list of chewing gum wrappers too,  ;) I see he has 37,000 different examples.

BTW This machine was made in Italy in 1995 and apparently can take euros as well. The instructions are in Italian too.
I shall wander over to google italia..............

I've found an earlier model and hey ho there are the coins!!
I can make out the Eiffel tower....... there seem to be six in all, not sure they're all different.
I'll try and ask on the forum I found it on if I can find it again  ::)
