I put a question mark on the title because, although I'm reasonably confident that is what I have; two identical pieces have recently sold quite handsomely as early Malay Kepings.

There's certainly a familial resemblance, but do I really have it that wrong?

Wedding or New Year token Persian. Inscription of May it be blessed (fortunate). Keping rooster is different.

I have recently...last year or so seen several Iranian New Year or maybe even wedding type tokens that have a rooster on them. I find them very attractive although I haven't got one yet. This looks similar.

I have several one Keping Singapore merchants tokens, somewhat similar but the text is above.
