Thanks.  This article is by no means the definitive source on this topic (although it probably is the only one in the English language).  If I discover more information about South Korea's first commemorative coins, I'll update the article. 

I don't believe that previous Korean-language treatments of this subject have made the connection between the commemorative coins and the the crazy things happening in the Korean Embassy in Washington at the time.

Thanks for your feedback.  And I took a quick glance at your Republic of India coins site.  I will for sure be going back to look at that often.  Actually, there IS information out there about modern series of world coins, but it takes people to put it up on the web for all of us to see.  Thanks for your efforts!
