Dear all,
The film on Mamprusi (and their use of tax tokens) is really interesting! I was able to buy some lately. During the same sale, there were Togo tax tokens, and an unidentified one you can see in the attached documents: an hexagonal uniface token with "D-I/1913" in large letters. It comes probably from the same subregion, but from where? Dahomey (there were fishing tokens issued in 1913, but no more evidence)? Ideas are most welcome!

I looked at the information on the fishing tokens of Dahomey this idea does seem possible as they were only issued in that year 1913. It would be interesting to find out more on these. One point is that, unlike the head tax discs, this token of yours does not bear a serial number.

Thanks Malcolm, my guess was based on the same source, which means we need more to "triangulate"... Or wait for a fantastic discovery!

I don't see a "1" but an "I". So I read "D-I". This could well be Dahomey Impôt. My piece was found in Benin. After reading the book in my opinion the use of this token is confirmed.

I'm not Mal, but this confusion is no problem, but an honour. ;-)
