I am compiling a set of useful resources information.  Here is what I have so far. Once we have a good list, I organize the topic and pin it so that we can use it as a reference.  So please share what you have.

Written by Dr Paul Steven, its one of the most valuable reference sites of British India.  Provides mintage numbers, varieties of the Presidency and Uniform coinage.  Note: The rarity rating is out of date and may not apply in today's market.


The coins of British India 1862-1947: http://www.jfcampbell.us/india/

This is a valuable reference site and provides a lot of details on British India varieties and checklists.  Especially interesting are the 1862 rupee varieties listed.


David Fore Collection

Dr. David Fore's collection of British India coins Part 1 (Proofs) & Part 2 (Patterns and State Proofs) was auctioned by Baldwin (UK) in May 2013.  The images and description provide a good study of British India proofs, patterns and restrikes. The collection and price realized can be found here:

B O O K S

Standard Catalog of World Coins - 1801-1900 by George S. Cuhaj, Thomas Michael  published by Krause Publications.

A standard book for all world coin collectors provides listing of year, mintage numbers, denomination, and price per condition.  This book is where the KM reference numbers come from. It has a good coverage of British India Presidencies, East India Co. and Regal issues (Victoria).  A very good reference but the prices are not necessarily accurate.

Standard Catalog of world coins 1901-2000  by George S. Cuhaj, Thomas Michael  published by Krause Publications.

A continuation of the earlier book this covers 1901-1947 of British India.  Again a very good reference book.     

The Coins of the British Commonwealth of Nations. Part 4 India. Volume 2, Uniform Coinage. By Major Pridmore  published by Spink & Son Ltd, London 1980

The most authoritative reference of British India till date and a must have for the serious collector or researcher of British India Uniform coins. This book covers British India Uniform coinage from 1835 to 1947. It includes listing of coins by denomination, year, verity and mintage numbers. No prices are provided.  It also include a lot of information very useful research material on the East India Co, mints, laws and acts about minting

The Coins of the Bengal Presidency. The Coinage of the Hon. East India Company: Part I. by Dr Paul Stevens

"This book explores the coins and mints of the Bengal Presidency from 1757, when the EIC first acquired the right to mint coins there, until 1835, when a uniform coinage was introduced into British India."
