Hello everyone.

Well, I received a rather unexpected surprise (more of a liability) in the mail about a week ago. Out of nowhere appeared a nice Canada proof set in presentation case. The liability? I didn't order it. I was able to get the sellers name off of the envelope and called and left a message and a phone number where I could be reached. In the meantime, I had to bring it to the bank safe box where it now resides. I have not received a return call so I will give the sender a while longer and then accept it as a gift from someone if no call comes???

I like surprises...I just hope someone out there is not waiting for the set that somehow got misdirected to me. Alan  ???

That is what I would do. According to the law in Germany, I do not even have to notify the sender, but (unless it's some well known slimebag ;D ) I'd do it out of courtesy - after all, we all make mistakes. Don't know US law in that regard, but I am sure nobody can expect you to send the item back.

Hello everyone. This is just a follow up to my original post about reciving a beautiful Canada Proof set in leather case that I did NOT order. I immediately contacted the person at the address on the envelope (found his phone number online) and left a message with my contact information. I though that it may have been from an Ebay seller with whom I may have delt before and he in error addressed the set to me. That was a guess. Well, that was back on June 11th, 2013 and as of today, I have not received an email or phone call. All I can do is assume that it was a surprise gift from someone ????? or the seller just didn't want to bother with me shipping it back and (hopefully) paying me the shipping and insurance. So, as of today, I have officially adopted the set that has been in the safe deposit box since June 12.

It is not something that I would have ordered for my collection, but it's a nice addition at no cost. I hope the person for whom it WAS intended has received a replacement or a refund.  :-\

These kind of things never happen to me!! Why? Why?!!
My goal for 2017 is to finish finish my British India copper collection (1/4 anna, 1/2 Pice and 1/12 anna) by year and Mintmark. Any help with missing coins in BU grades is highly appreciated.

Hello Borkencompass.

Don't feel too badly. This sort of thing never happens to me either...but then...today I did the groceery shopping and got a silver dime (1963) at checkout. Maybe "my ship has come in"??? ;)   all be it a very small and leaky ship...
