I have just received an intimation that "The Coin Conference" will be held in Berlin on 28th to 30th October, 2013.

1. Did anyone from this forum attend the first such conference which was held in London in 2011?

2. Is anyone likely to attend this conference?

The details are at www.thecoinconference.com

I don't think so, especially after looking at their delegate fees. ;) Terribly expensive..

The 2011 conference was also attended by Indian Government Mint. What did they do there? Interesting. :D

Who came from India Govt. mint? Did any one other than Mr. Rana come?

What new initiatives have been taken by them since May 2011? I could only see that 5 Rupees coins issued in late 2011 ( CAG, Civil Aviation etc.) had a shiny finish as compared to earlier 5 Rupees coins on Ni Bronze types ( like Saint Alphonsa, Mother Theresa, Rabindra Nath Tagore etc.). I am yet to get recent ones like Madan Mohan Malaviya, Vaishno Devi, Kuka etc.
This improvement may be an outcome of learning from this conference (perhaps just wishful thinking).

Also, what are the plans of Sethia Group, who also attended this conference?
