UK National Archives puts Royal Mint documents online

They are loaded in PDF form. The catch is that there are very few of them as yet, and a small fee is charged for download. I haven't examined any of the PDFs - I'm lucky enough to live in London, so I have visited the National Archives and read various documents for myself. I have scanned or photographed the illustrations from several documents over the years, and they can be found in our Unrealised designs board.

If you are interested, here is an example of a search for online documents:

1] Here I have chosen records containing the words "design" or "designs". I have selected "Online collections only", and from "Search within" I have chosen "Select government department" and checked the box labelled "MINT - Royal Mint."

2] After clicking on the green "Search button", I have obtained the following results:

3] After clicking on "Decimalisation: design of reverse of 50p coin, With photographs", I get the following result:

4] You can click on the tab labelled "View this record" and browse through the pages. Unfortunately, a note tells you "This image is low-resolution and has been intentionally distorted. To view or download a high-resolution, complete record, please add to your basket on the full description page."
