I just visited the Kolkata mint site and see that the following coins are up for booking:

Re-Strikes / Re-Mint
1. Sant Tukaram
2. Syama Prasad Mookherjee
3. Lal bahadur shastri

New Coins
4. Swami Vivekananda
5. 60 years of Alipore Mint

Earth shattering for dealers hearing these sets and a book for us collectors.. enjoy...enjoy...

PS: Moderator Notes:
Changed this topic to reflect the discussion on Re-Strikes of Syama Prasad Mookerjee & Tukaram  & Shastri.

kansal ji,

why are prices so high?     ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Can it be said that Kolkata Mint has also joined the Gang of Coin dealers? :'( :'( :'(

And why not, why should not they also take the benefit of prevailing high prices for Tukaram and Mookerjee sets?

So guys, now it is time to start depreciate the value of your old Proof and UNC sets. :'( :'( :'(

Definitely, for the Mookerjee, Tukaram and Shastri, they will be restrikes.
Most probably, packing will remain the same, but there can be some colour difference due to ink variation. It may have the Word RESTRIKE written on the packing, as was done earlier.

Ramesh

Ramesh Ji,

1. These coins may not be re-strike in true sense. It will be better to call them re-minted or re-made or re-issued
2. Packing could resemble the original but one can easily identify the will be able to identify the Restrikes.
