Straits Settlements Dollar fake
« on: March 24, 2013, 08:20:26 PM »

I am a collector of British India and Straits Settlements coins and papermoney.  Here is one of my Straits Settlement coin a 1903B Dollar minted in the Bombay mint.  To be this is one of the best design of the British Colony coins. Please do share your Straits / Malaya coins.

Wow - nice coin! The portrait has a nicer design than the India series... More regal. Where is the mintmark on this?

The mint mark is on the cross of the crown like the British India Edward 1 Anna:

The B raised is very rare in this condition.

Undoubtedly a fake, probably cast. Sorry. :'(

Les cercles des perles sont tellement irrégulier que c'est sans doute un faux, probablement coulé.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.
