And as for that new mark - it is not a leaf. As I wrote, it is a (goose) feather or, since Lesens refers to poetry, a quill. And it's not what you might possibly think it might possibly be. Besides, on the coins the privy mark will be tiny anyway ...

About the mintmark of Serge Lesens: it appeared already on the Belgian 2 euro coin commemorating Louis Braille.
I received this coin today in circulation.

Ah, right! Dang, I even have that coin but admittedly did not pay much attention to that tiny little diagonal line first. The scales privy mark sure was easier to recognize. The description in MuntInfo is also a little confusing: "Dit stuk is tevens het eerste Belgische herdenkingsmuntstuk dat het nieuwe muntmeesterteken draagt." So either the Damien/Damiaan coin was issued before the Braille coin (don't think so), or "herdenkingsmunt" means collector coin, and not commemorative coin ...
