Please help identify this counterstamped token
« on: October 19, 2019, 01:53:36 PM »
This piece was part of a lot of counterstamped / engraved coins and tokens I picked up from an auction. I have no idea what it is and would like help in trying to identify it.

It's very small at 18mm and appears to be aluminum. My first thought was it was a gaming token, but that's probably wrong. The counterstamp also is interesting. Initials of a company or person, maybe?

Any help is much appreciated.

One that is not in my collection!  :P  :P  I doubt aluminium more likely nickel or silvered brass.

The C.C is probably the initials of the arcade proprietor wherever it was used, or even the name of the arcade itself. This is a safeguard against customers bringing in other similar tokens to claim a prize.

Most probably used in a British arcade.

Two more with the CC initials. see # 337.6 on my site for similar.

This time the serial number of the machine is shown too.

Thanks for the information, Mal. The token seemed a little heavy to be aluminum, so it may be the silvered brass. I don't think it's nickel.
