Are you talking about big 5Rs coins of Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi? or some other denomination?
If its big 5Rs coin then why now they are releasing? Any idea Sirji?

Seems too good to be true ... the older big coins being released again??
Looks like RBI is out of storage space and getting rid of all types of coins ...

any idea where I can get my hand on few ... the last time they were released, they were never in real circulation ... i mean they quickly went into the cupboards of dealers and ordinary people ...

you are saying tilak-ji is in market as well ... are you taking us early for a march fool rather than an april fool and may flower ...
i dont mind spending few more bucks on them for rs 40 ... get me a dozen  ;D

you will have to go the market dheer then you can decide if you are march april may or a new category completely

a couple of dudes are selling them on ebay you can buy from them if you like they dont sell by dozen like fruits but more like in multiples of 5 and 10

rate in the region of rs 30.  there are only a couple of coins designs left now.  what i am looking forward to is first war and dandi god knows why they are not coming out  ;D ;D

He's just a collector, but I'm a very small time hoarder (for exchange purposes mind you !) ... So I'd look forward to a packet of these if they are reasonably priced

everything from the rbi vaults is being dumped out.  i am making a separate thread for what has not been released.  Everything else has been released within the last 6 months all steel designs and even the earlier brass one like anna, alphonsa etc.  and yes all coins that i am talking about are 5 rs.

well its a personal thing.  the prices are not constant.  i would try around with the different coin dealers.  my personal opinion is if one already has the coins then why bother unless one is investing and that is a different ball game altogether. 

it is a heaven sent opportunity for people who would have to pay 1.5k for tilakji.  they can save themselves from getting ripped off.  the people who want to buy it will have to do the running and invest the money.
