Hi, Mackie. Nice Indonesian coins. I also like the birds...and the flowers. I tend to think that the coins of the U.S.A. are rather "uninteresting". We sure could use some birds and flowers here too!!! We have plenty of political "birdbrains"...but not on coins...yet.

Regarding the 2 mark German coins, nice set there too. I rather made a goof a couple of years ago. While in my Music Coin frenzy (still am) I hurridly glanced at the German Strauss listing for a coin on E-Bay and thought...gee...I thought Strauss was Austrian but if the Germans made a coin honoring him, it needs to be in the Music coin collection honoring the "Waltz King". Ooooooooops. So now I have a proof Strauss coin somewhere...but definitely NOT in with the music coins. Not one of my smarter purchases...

I wonder how many of us have made a "purchasing error" as dumb as mine was???

Very good MacKie... I've got 13 of them so far... But I can spot at least four from your list which I don't have yet

Bimat

Mackie on fire. :D

Nice collection indeed! How many different types are there? Between 1998-2008, there were (at-least) 20 different commemorative 1 Dirham issues, I guess they have issued few more since then?

Many thanks PP and Aditya.

Aditya,

I checked on numista and they have listed 32 different types. According to numista,  the first 1 Dirham commemorative i.e.  Zayed bin Sultan (27th Chess Olympiad) was issued in 1986 and the last - Khalifa bin Zayed (First Oil Shipment) was issued in 2012. :)

Hello Mackie.

Bimat beat me to helping you with reading the dates on your Iranian coins but I have attached a chart for reading dates in many languages. Of course then you have to convert the dates to "our calendar" but there are many online sites that make that quite easy too. Bimat is right. Disciphering the dates is quite easy. Oh...great looking Iranian coins there!
