Uhm, would you all be meeting later for that whole programme that was put up somewhere earlier this thread ? Would be interesting if you do and a but of a shame if you don't (but co ordination is a near impossibility anyways)

Yes we had a chat on various points but ,Paisepagal  you are right due to different timings of visit & lot of uncontrollable crowd  this show was suspended .
So few visitors couldn't able to enter venue. Mostly general visitors brought their stuffs for evaluation and price estimate due to some misleading advertisement about high value & returns on old coins/bank notes. I'm satisfied after meeting 2 members & buying few coins.
Cheers ;D

PS: Image of Hindi newspaper ( not sure which newspaper it is ) I took photo from one of the visitor who want to make fortune from his general coins and asking with curiosity  does his coins are worthy.

Reached at 4.00 PM. Disappointed to see the gates closed. It seems the exhibition has been cancelled.

Here is the unofficial  version obtaioned from the officers of the Police:

Organisers of the show wanted to increase the footfalls. They engaged a local agency for this purpose. The local FM radios continously broadcasting advertisements like "Do you know that old one rupee coin could be worth as much as Ten Lakh Rupees. That old copper one paisa could sell for thousands of Rupees. Come to the Coin exhibition with your old coins to sell and for free evaluation." Consequently thousands of people descended on the venue with their old coins, tokens, temple tokens, diwali ccoinds etc.

Such mayhem that the exhibition had to be closed when some rival organisations started raising slogans and tried to disrupt the scheme of things.Closure was announced and a posse of policemen took over.

I met people from Baghpat and Rohtak, old rustic farmer couples who thought they were holding fortunes worth crores in old coins. Many urban families, children dutifully in tow were also patiently waiting to enter the premises. A shame the show was cancelled.Do not know if I will be able to try again tomorrow.

They deserve this cancellation considering the way in which they do the business these days...
