Received these mysterious items as part of a trade with a WoC member. They were in a packet which otherwise contained French tokens, so they may be French, but I'm none the wiser!  :)

There's not enough really to Google -- the PM (or RM?) logo in the wreath didn't yield anything obvious.

Half-litre: 25.8 mm, 3.75 g, non-magnetic white metal
1 litre: 32.2 mm, 6.58 g, ditto.

They sure travel well. ;)

French, most probably for empty bottles. Haven't come much farther. One intriguing possibility: Remy Martin...

@redwine: Why not ask our French friends?

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

I have seen that 'RM monogram in a laurel wreath' before - I think in a pharmacy...

It is also here on WOC where no conclusion was come to.

Have a look at  my tokens and my banknotes.

Thanks all -- I suspect it will remain a mystery, but I hadn't thought of the bottle deposit possibility, which definitely makes sense. On that basis it could be more or less any water, wine or milk producer or any little épicerie in the whole of France.

I had a thought that it might be in lieu of payment for grape picking.
Totally groundless, nothing new there  ;D

I did find yesterday that it is a DIY logo - see more here.
You can have any initials or image in the Laurel Wreath!
