Useful token website
« on: December 18, 2012, 01:00:57 PM »
Just stumbled across this Russian token collector's website , which proved very useful in identifying some German car wash tokens just now.

Might be a bit challenging if you can't read Cyrillic, although any text on the tokens themselves is reproduced in the original alphabet/language, so it is still searchable in Latin.

Yes useful, I found that Жетон means token. ...perhaps jeton

I found a brass one similar to my one - but reverse 1  [from Google translate =Counter (presumably the game, Ukraine). "Badge", "1". Diameter 21.5 mm, thickness 1.5 mm, yellow metal, A / P = arbitrary.]

this one is Cu-Ni 23.6mm
Malcolm
Have a look at  my tokens and my banknotes.

I emailed him to give him some more information about some tokens he had listed as 'unknown' (mostly Swedish) and he got back to me very quickly, and offered to help identify any problem tokens I have if he is able.

Unfortunately he only updates the site sporadically due to time pressures -- e.g. when he gets new information from a reader.

I also don't know whether he understands English, but if you have something you think he can help with, I'll do my best to translate your query. (My Russian is very rusty, having been displaced in my head by Swedish.)
