This duit from Friesland has seen better days !
On the reverse you still can see the shield of armour with the remnants of two fierce lions facing left.
Also fragments of the text which reads: NISI  DNS NOBISCV, (short for Nisi Dominus Nobiscum, which means: Unless The Lord is with us..).

Not really. It has more to do with a very serious, murderous, religious war pitting Friesland against Groningen and being taken for a ride 40 years before (read more here).
