Another nice looking coin. This one is original with no "cleaning lines" like the unfortunate 3 cent nickel coin.

Thanks Alan...I really should start collecting US coins again, especially the more classical ones.  I just hate the coins we have now, especially the commemorative coins.  Talk about being boring and unpleasant.  The aesthetic beauty of the older US coins is just simply breathtaking...

I couldn't agree more, RAM. I love the "early types" 1793 to about 1946...the modern stuff is mostly uninspirational.

So welcome back to collecting. I hope my posts got you motivated all over again!!!

It looks like you did just that  :D.  The unpleasant modern coins and the lackluster commemorative coins was one of the major reasons why I stopped collecting US coins.  The 400th Anniversary of Jamestown was the last of the great commemorative coins, afterwards it was pretty much down hill from there.  I'll probably start beefing up my collection again with pre-war issuances.  Thanks for rekindling the fire  ;)
