Shah Alam II rupee, year 1179 AD and RY 7. Mint Murshidabad.

Good and very scarce coin!!!! Islam da, this is a coin of bengal presidency and not mughal.. RY 7/1179 A.H murshidabad mint. mint mark is star. These are scarce and early coin of EIC, Islamda.. Star mint mark exists from Ry 6 to Ry 10, after which it was replaced with crescent mint mark for Ry 11, Ry 12 and Ry 15. After this it was replaced with the perpetual Ry 19.. As i said earlier I have posted a Ry 12 coin with crescent mark in Woc somedays back..

I have little knowledge on these coins. But thanks a lot Abhishek bhai for the detail. I picked without knowing its value. But thanks for telling me the worth. Your knowledge in this area helped me.
