Ur coin of RY 6 looks a little different from the coin in Dr.Paul Stevens' article. your coin lack the star like mark on 'shah' of badshah. The jasmine flower may be off flan in your coin.. Maybe Oesho would be able to answer it.

Now I find RY6 coin more like rupee INO Muhammad Shah from Murshidabad mint. But not sure without the name.

abhinumis

This does look like the rupee in name of muhammad shah.. Specially by the group of four dots instead of the star mark on shah of badshah.
Found a RY 6 on Zeno. Hope this helps http://www.zeno.ru/showphoto.php?photo=96281

The coins struck by other merchants (french, dutch etc) can be disguished by dot patterns. However, Alamgir II with RY 6 & 1174AH falls under Bengal presidency as presidency system started from that time. All prior issues are the issues of Nawabs of bengal. I have a good collection of Bengal Presidency coins including date varieties. Will upload in photobucket.
