The new Mozambican design series of the 1990s omitted the word "POPULAR" ("People's") from the country's title.

The new design series since 2006 has removed that emblem and simply shows the Bank of Mozambique logo.

There is some debate in Mozambique about whether the communistic emblem with a gun should be removed from the Mozambican flag.

Burkina Faso SilverOz Pattern.jpg

This is a Burkina Faso pattern showing such a communistic emblem.

I do not know when it dates from.

The emblem is very similar to the Mozambican emblem.

New coat of arms.

From Wikipedia:

The Laotian coat of arms was modified in 1991.

The Communist red star and hammer and sickle were replaced with the national shrine at Pha That Luang.
