Doesn't that look like Paul Steven's Baldwins' Coins of India website catalog, or am I wrong?

By Paul Stevens and Randy Weir. The book is slated to be released late November and priced at £75.

If the pictures inside are as good as on the cover then I would be a buyer.  :)

Note: I am not affiliated to the authors or publishers and received this flyer and liked it, so sharing.

is the book out in the market already? if so is todywala the distributor for this book as well in India?

Yes, I heard the book is out. I am looking to pick the book at the New York coin show next week.
My goal for 2017 is to finish finish my British India copper collection (1/4 anna, 1/2 Pice and 1/12 anna) by year and Mintmark. Any help with missing coins in BU grades is highly appreciated.

The book is out. I got my copy last month. The book production is excellent – very good paper quality and binding.  It also has a very attractive cover. The book comes in two styles one is a hard bound and the other is the spiral bound. The spiral bound one is indented to be used to take notes.  I have the hard bound book.

It has an excellent introduction chapter that talks about identifying proofs from restrikes.   The book describes a few general characteristics here and its very informative.  Unfortunately its only 2 or 3 pages and doesn't get into specific series of coins or period.

The book covers all dates and varieties of British India Uniform coinage and each section has pictures of the coin, mintage, and price per date/mint/variety.  The format is very similar to Dr Paul Steven's Catalog of Coins of India on the Baldwin site.

What I like about this book:
1.       Fantastic pictures of British India coins including patterns.  Many of the pictures of the patterns are from the David Fore collection (which Randy helped to put together).  I personally have seen any book that covers these patterns and the pictures are the best there is today.
2.       Prices for business strike are listed for EF, AU and Unc.  Prices are very tricky for any reference book as they fluctuate with time and also differ from one region to another. However, I found that the prices to be fairly accurate for the business strikes or at least I can now use them as relative prices when comparing two coins.
3.        For the first time price for Proofs are broken up into Late restrike, Early restike and original proof. This is something that is desperately needed,  it now clearly differentiates and categories British India proofs.

What I wish the authors add in the 2nd edition:
1.       I was hoping for more historic information, similar to the Pridmore book on each coins series. Why things happened, important facts about survivability and rarity, which is currently absent.
2.       More information on identifying and differentiating original proofs,  early restrike and late proofs.   This would be good if it is series specific with images and examples.

Over all its an excellent book. A must have for the British India collector and in my view the most significant reference book since the Pridmore book Vol 2: Uniform coinage East India Company 1835-58 Imperial period 1858-1947. Although this book doesn't replace Primdore's work, it is certainly ground breaking in its own right.

Absolutely agree , Pridmore remain benchmark reference book for B.I collectors.

However due to technological developments newly released books shall be used  as secondary guidelines.

Cheers ;D

even 3000 is too much.  lets see how much it sells for in the exhibition.

On the one hand we have people complaining that illustrations in certain books printed in India are not good enough and should not be bought and then we have others complaining that books are too expensive when brilliantly produced????

Have you any idea how much it costs to produce a quality book Before the authors/researchers turn rupee one.

Oh wait we do this for fun and criticism by those who can't be bothered doing anything but complain.
